(Walkthrough)

 

Even if horror and fear won't keep you up at night, some of the harder puzzles from Phantasmagoria 2 might leave you sleepless. Fortunately, help has arrived! This should get you through the toughest hair-pullers in the game.

Chapter the first - leaping in with both feet
Can't seem to get out the door this morning? Curtis can't leave the apartment without his wallet. Click on the couch in the living room to see that wallet under the couch. Take Blob the retrieving rat from her cage and use her on the couch. She won't come back out? Tempt her with the granola bar from the bedside table. Success!
Trouble accessing your files? Curtis' password is BLOB - use this to log into the computer. Uh oh, now you're locked out of the Venamin document? The password is RATBOY - thanks a lot Bob! (What a jerk.) Want into the archive folder? Check out the boss' office - the password is on a plaque on his wall.. it's CARPE DIEM (don't forget to type the space).
Getting out of Chapter One is a 12-step process (hmmmm... why does that sound familiar?). Get out of the apartment and go to Wyntech. Show the sexy postcard to Jocilyn, Therese and Trevor. Show your card key to Trevor and Tom. Show the picture of Curtis' parents to Jocilyn and Trevor. Show the Christmas party picture to Jocilyn and Trevor. Find the hidden door in the network room. Watch the movies of Therese flirting by the water cooler and in the network room. Click on Curtis' computer document until he hallucinates twice. Read company email and respond to Trevor's and Jocilyn's messages. Solve the puzzle hiding the Venamin document. Snoop around in Paul Warner's office. And, finally, have a date with Jocilyn at The Dreaming Tree.

Chapter the second -- trouble with the law
Can't get into the main office? Well, you'll just have to go around. Go back into the hall and enter Paul Warner's office. While the policeman is otherwise occupied, sneak into the main office.
Having trouble opening that little hidden door in the network room? The key is in Paul Warner's desk drawer. Go into the main office and use Tom's phone to call Warner at extension 6996. He'll leave the office and you can sneak in and nick the key.
You have eight things to do in order to finish Chapter Two, including what I like to refer to as the "navel disaster". Find the bondage card in the mail at Curtis' apartment. Be interrogated by the policewoman at Wyntech. Get the button from Bob's cube. Open the hidden door in the network room. Open the metal box from the hidden room. Click on the rat cage, the mirror and the bookcase in Curtis' apartment. Go to the appointment with Dr. Rikki. Meet Therese at The Borderline and get your navel pierced (ouch!).

Chapter the third -- it's all in your mind
Stuck in the mental hospital? Click on everyone you can. Then click on the buckle of the wheelchair strap. To distract the nurse, kick the ball as it rolls past your feet. During the ensuing uproar, click on the buckle of the wheelchair strap. Click on the hallway to escape.
If you're stuck somewhere in Chapter Three, you still need to do one or more of eight required things. Read your email and the hidden documents at Wyntech. Open the hidden compartment in the metal box. Hallucinate in Therese and Bob's cubicles. See the fight between Tom and Paul. Meet with Trevor at The Dreaming Tree. Escape from the mental hospital. Go to the appointment with Dr. Harburg. Finally, meet Therese at Curtis' apartment.

Chapter the fourth -- infection, revelation, desecration
Wouldn't you just love to see what's in Warner's computer files? First, log into Warner's computer as Curtis and read the email from Trevor. Log out of the computer, and then re-log in as Warner, using the password CARPE DIEM. Change Curtis' security clearance to three, using the password BLACKLOTUS to change the security level. To access the documents in the MEMOS directory, use Warner's favorite: CARPE DIEM. The passwords for the individual documents are: INFECTION, REVELATION and DESECRATION.
You'll need to complete seven sequences in order to finish Chapter Four. Talk to the policewoman at the apartment and Wyntech. Get the mail and read the invitation from Therese. Click on the rat's cage and the bookcase to hallucinate. Go to your appointment with Dr. Harberg. Fight with Jocilyn Break into the basement at Wyntech. And meet Therese at The Borderline.

Chapter the fifth -- aliens and alienation
Not sure what to do in the basement? Use your keycard to get past the glass door. Take the elevator to the basement. Go through all the doors until you get to a door with a numeric keypad. Use the code 10958 to unlock the door. Start the Threshold computer, using the password ROSETTA. Talk to the aliens using the buttons on the right. It doesn't matter what you say - just get them to open the door! Use Trevor's key card on the reader to enter the Threshold.
The alien world is by far the toughest part of the game, so I'm going to provide a complete walkthrough here. In the Upper Room, take some of the brown slime from the green pipe in front of Curtis, then go down the ramp into the Lower Room.
There are four aliens in the Lower Room. You must capture three of them. The first alien is shaped like a horseshoe and is immediately visible to Curtis' left when you first enter the Lower Room. The others are near his feet, so you'll have to click the down arrow to find them. Take the starfish alien and the round alien with a tail. Grab some of that fungus they were snacking on, too. In inventory, combine the horseshoe and the starfish creatures to create a new, hybrid alien. Go through the hole in the wall to the Electricity Room.
Once you're in the Electricity Room, turn around so Curtis' back is to the Electric River. Click on the glowing aliens near the wall. They're too fast to catch, so you'll have to lay some bait. Use the fungus on the creatures to attract them, then grab one while it's eating. Tricky!
Remember that hybrid alien you created? Well, it had a purpose. Click the hybrid alien on the Electric River to create a hole in the stream. (You may have to left click several times, then right click to make the hole appear.) Now, go on through and touch the electricity - whoosh! When you reach the upper ledge, go through the tunnel. Talk to the friendly folks you find there until you end up in the Mental Hospital.
While you're lying comfortably on the operating table, click on the surgical tray, to get a close up. Take the big syringe on the left. Owie! You'll end up at the Dreaming Tree having a lovely tête-à-tête with Jocilyn. Click on her gun to take it from her.
Uh-oh, you dropped your card key. Click the down arrow to find it - and hurry! Use the card key on the card reader by the elevator to make your daring escape. As if by magic, you'll be at the Borderline with Therese. You need to dump this girl; click on the lever by Curtis' hand.
In Curtis' backyard, click on Mom to give her a big hug. (Yes, really.) And then...it's back to the alien world! Click on the deformed Curtis to pull out his life support, then take the yucky goo that's left behind. Exit through the new hole in the wall to the Lower Room.
A few repairs are necessary before you can go back through the Threshold. In inventory, combine the goo and the slime, then use it on the broken pipe. Go up the ramp to the Upper Room. Once of the lights on the Threshold is burned out - fortunately you have an alien in your pocket that is just the right voltage.
Now you have just one more task - repair the alien circuit board. Since this is the easy part, you're on your own from here. Kidding! We're kidding! Follow these steps exactly and it's a breeze. Really. Step One is to use the colored keys at the left (A) and bottom (B) of the screen as a guide to attaching the colored wires. Step Two: Click once on the knob (C) with the small red arrow so that the arrow points to three o'clock. Step Three: Click on the round lens (D) until the opening is at approximately the ten o'clock position. Step Four: Click on the spigot (E) right above the lens. This will charge the red circuit at the left of the screen. Step Five: Click on the round lens (D) until the open is at approximately the three o'clock position. Step Six: Click on the spigot (E) to charge the ray (G). Step Seven: Click on the knob (C) until the arrow points to nine o'clock. Step Eight: Click on the triangle (F) until the red dot is in the lower right. Step Nine: Click on the ray (G) to shoot light through the red dot. Step Ten: Click on the triangle (F) until the yellow dot is in the lower right. Step Eleven: Click on the ray (G) to shoot light through the yellow dot. Step Twelve: Do you see where we're going with this? Click on the triangle (F) until the blue dot is in the lower right. Step Thirteen: Guess what? Click on the ray (G) to blast that blue dot. Step Fourteen: Click on the red, yellow and blue toggles (H) in that order. Step Fifteen: Do steps eight through fourteen again!
One final list for you, in case you're having trouble getting out of Chapter Five. In order to finish the game, you'll need to go to Dr. Harberg's office and escape from the security guard. Hallucinate in Curtis, Bob and Tom's cubicles at Wyntech. Watch Trevor get killed in the network room. Go to the basement and go through the threshold. Kill the deformed alien Curtis. Repair the Threshold and the alien circuit board. Then, of course, you'll need to decide whether you want to be a human or an alien. (Hmmmm... what a choice of companions. Beautiful woman, or indifferent blobs of energy... let me think...) Good luck!
